We are seeking a dynamic, motivated person to bring more of our awesome programs to more young engineers in the DC/Maryland area. This position involves teaching in after-school enrichment programs, birthday parties, and summer camps, presenting our program at schools and community centers, seeking out new clients and developing program growth in the area. This position also includes hiring new instructors, training and evaluating them in our quality programs, and scheduling all staff for upcoming programs.
Buckle up - this is hard work! Lugging 40 pound totes in and out of your car, leading excited kids through challenging projects, managing classroom conflicts, cleaning up all those LEGOs -- this will be the toughest job you'll ever love!

·         Ability to learn and comprehend all internal IT systems.


Education / Experience / Requirements

·         Passion for LEGO and kids

·         Must be living in or willing to move to the geographic area that you are applying to

·         Educational backgrounds vary. Coursework and/or professional experience in Education, Engineering, Construction, Performance Arts or a related subject. Bachelor's degree preferred.

·         Successful history working with children in a teaching capacity.

·         Work history varies; proficient in classroom instruction, management, training, employee relations, public relations, business and marketing preferred.

·         Travel to classes in local area; travel locally or nationally as necessary.

·         Reliable transportation a must; secure location to store LEGO kits.

·         Lifting up to 50 lbs to store and stock materials; bending, stooping and crawling with children during class instruction.


·         Must pass all background and health tests as a condition of employment.

The college is now accepting applications for Student Orientation Leaders!  Orientation Leaders serve as guides for new students who are making the transition to the diverse, academic, intellectual and social culture of AACC.  This is an excellent opportunity for students to develop their presentation and leadership skills, increase confidence and gain valuable experience for their resume.  The majority of the work takes place between June and early September.  Orientation leaders earn $10 per hour.

Qualifications
Currently enrolled at AACC
Minimum GPA of 2.5
Strong leadership and communication skills
Maintain good academic and disciplinary standing with the college

The Child Development Center on our Arnold Campus is looking for Child Care Aides and an On- Call Substitute.  Our Child Development Center serves young children ages 2-5 years of age and is a Nationally accredited program.  We are looking for students who don’t necessarily need to have classroom experience, but love children and are willing to learn.

Ideally, the Aides would be available on Tues & Thursday- all or part of the day.
Pay rate is commensurate with education and experience but starts at $9.00 per hour.

Students who receive financial aid are encouraged to apply, but this is not required.
